The Farang, who came to Pattaya or Phuket for hunting girls, will soon succeed to capture such a creature with delicate almond eyes and smooth dark skin. If he wants only to fulfill his male needs for a small fee, then he will be satisfied thereafter and wish her goodbye, so on the next evening he may go hunting again. But if the girl has awakened other feelings to him than those in his abdomen, so that he wants to stay longer time with her, then he has not caught the girl, but the girl has caught him.

To question him, why an exceptionally attractive twenty-year-old girl has fallen in love with an unattractive man who is older than her father, does not cross his mind. No man likes to admit, that he needs to pay for sex, because it scrapes on his ego. But after all, everybody is doing nothing else, regardless of whether the man pays immediately after a "short time", or whether he must pay nothing to his girlfriend after sex, but has to pay for her livelihood and that of her family.

 

Even if the girl is very modest to the beginning, she will sooner or later come with a heartbreaking story. Why she works in a bar, that their family is highly indebted, and the mother most go to a hospital with life threatening bleeding, and that only a complicated and expensive operation can save her. Or that the father had become unemployed, so that the family has nothing to eat. The exchangeable few blocks from composed stories will not only bring him to help with money, but also will give him an alibi for his ego.

 

Even if the girls are quite modest at the beginning, it is common practice to send after departure of the beloved men heartbreaking letters him, in which the girls will deplore any mishap and complain to the helpfulness of their Farang friend. Their ingenuity is almost inexhaustible, and they will never miss to indicate their account number in their letter. And since the girls had been collecting the address from almost any of their Farang friends they have known, they will send such letters by the dozens.

 

And the success rate is quite high. Should the "lover" have sent no money, then with the next letter the whole problems will increase, and the situation is depicted as if the girlfriend shortly will be faced with total financial ruin, and her life has no longer any value. She writes about her great love for him, and that she hopes that he will help her to get out of this dilemma. If they have got the telephone number, than the men will also get tearful phone calls. And what man with a soft heart could say “No.” If against all expectations, still no money is coming, the address will be thrown in the trash, because any further effort would be inefficient.            

 

One increasingly used trick by the girls, is to collect e-mail addresses. From my village at least 20 girls "work" in Pattaya and almost all have one or more lover with whom they are linked by e-mail.  E-mails are a wonderful thing. One can send one and the same e-mail to countless idiots by simply changing the name. Such standard letters, which Bargirls send to their lover in Farang-Land, always consist of three parts. The first part tells them how much she loves and misses her Farang. The second part deals with some mishap in the family. The mother must be hospitalized, the brother had a car accident, and she herself is ill or even pregnant.  The third and most important part is the urge to transfer money. Each of lovesick Farang will believe that he is the only one who gets an e-mail from his sweetheart. To prevent the Farang to realize that it is a standard text, she needs to give a personal touch by mentioning one or two personal matters somewhere in the standard text. Farang lovers have a soft heart when she is moaning about her sick Mom, the accident of her father, or even that the Farang has made her pregnant. Almost all probable fathers will then generously transfer money.

Remember: E--Mail letters can be more lucrative, as to sit every evening at the bar and try catching a customer.

           

Are now all Bargirls born to screw lovesick Farang? By no means! The girls come from their village in Isaan into an entirely different world. They come in contact with Farang, who - for them completely incomprehensible - not only want to sleep with them, but also expect to be romantically loved for their money. They learn from their girlfriends, and even learn very quickly, that such a lovesick Farang is be poised to share something of his big money with her perhaps even to rescue her from the abominable bar life.

 

Before now condemning mercilessly the bustle of the girls, one should consider the social conditions in which they have grown up. In Thailand exists no social welfare at all. Whoever comes in distress, can only find help within the family. If suddenly such a potent donor emerges, then it is quite natural, that they will use him, to get a better social protection. Certainly there is fraud as always exists, if a good opportunity opens to raise easy funds, and not a few girls run the whole thing professionally, often even supported by male Thai hoodlums.

                       

To find out the genuine truth about the plight of the family, there is only one way. The man must go with the girl to her village, in order to meet the family and to see by himself what the matter is. For this, however, the usual 3 weeks Pattaya and 3 days Isaan are not enough. By a longer stay in the family, and of course having some common sense, it should usually be possible to see how the wind blows. The remaining risk is then not much more than with a girlfriend at home. But somehow all this has the appeal of the exotic, which makes Thai women so attractive for us Farang men.
